Several DSOs and dental companies have inked collaborations with organizations in other countries to expand their services.
Here are six international deals that have taken place so far this year:
1. Salins Orthodontics in the San Francisco Bay Area partnered with Canadian Orthodontic Partners as the DSO's first U.S. partnership.
2. Boca Raton, Fla.-based Sage Dental became the first U.S. DSO to offer KiyoClear orthodontic aligners, manufactured by Japan-based SheepMedical.
3. Effingham, Ill.-based Heartland Dental provided support for a merger of three Canadian dental companies to create the largest DSO in the country.
4. Dental supplier Envista Holdings Corp. expanded its implant partnership with Dentalcorp, a Canadian DSO.
5. Dental artificial intelligence company Overjet expanded into Canada after receiving a medical device establishment license from Health Canada for its AI-powered radiograph analysis and annotation software.
6. Digital dentistry supplier SprintRay partnered with German dental supplier BEGO group to create a 3D printing resin.
