A multi-office oral surgery group acquired a New Jersey dental practice, and five other dental mergers and acquisitions that took place in July:
1. Effingham, Ill.-based DSO Heartland Dental is providing support for a merger of three Canadian dental companies to create the largest DSO in the country.
2. Two Henry Schein subsidiaries — Ace Surgical Supply Co., a bone regenerative products and surgical supplies provider, and Southern Anesthesia and Surgical, a U.S. distributor of anesthesia and surgical supplies — merged to create a single dental surgical supply company.
3. Henry Schein completed its acquisition of privately held Swiss dental distribution company Condor Dental Research Co.
4. Nashville, Tenn.-based US Dental Surgery Network acquired a Massachusetts practice and added seven New England practices.
5. Straumann Group, a dental equipment and supply manufacturer, acquired a minority stake and invested in dental software company Carestack.
6. Riverside Oral Surgery, the largest surgeon-owned and operated oral surgery practice in New Jersey, acquired the Warren-based dental practice from James McMenamin, DMD.
