Dental services are one of many items affected by inflation across the U.S., with costs rising 1.9 percent in June, according to the June Consumer Price Index.
Three notes from the report:
1. The cost increase for dental services is the largest monthly change recorded for those services since the Bureau of Labor Statistics began tracking costs for dental services in 1995.
2. Prices for all items listed in the index, including food, gas and apparel, have increased by 9.1 percent since June 2021, making it the largest 12-month increase since 1981.
3. Medical care overall increased by 0.7 percent in June, with all medical care components increasing over the month, including hospital services and prescription drugs.
