Graham, N.C.-based Alamance Community College is planning to expand its dental assisting program to a facility at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill Adams School of Dentistry, which would make it the only such program in the area, thetimesnews reported July 14.
The community college recently received a $93,908 grant to fund expansion of the program, which is now at full capacity. The new facility will allow the college to expand the number of graduates from its dental assisting II program by 24 students each year.
The program, which will be the only one in Durham and Orange counties, will begin in January 2023. The UNC dental school spans both counties.
