Beverly Hills, Calif.-based Smile Health Orthodontics became the first practice in the area to use Brava technology, which uses a biomedical orthodontic approach to move each tooth independently.
Brava was created by Bruis Technologies and provides an alternative to clear aligners by not inserting and removing appliances and instead using flexible NiTi arms, according to a June 30 news release.
The product has a behind-the-teeth structure with metal arms designed specifically for each tooth. This allows for each arm to have a different thickness or pressure depending on what the tooth needs and prevents the movement of one tooth from impacting others.
