From a new partnership to a car crashing into a practice, here are eight California dental updates Becker's has reported on since June 3:
1. Sonrava Health opened an office that is home to the LooksBrite Eye Center and Western Dental & Orthodontics in South Gate.
2. The California Dental Association partnered with software company Abyde to offer the association's 27,000 members business support for their practices.
3. Stephen Thorne, CEO of Irvine-based DSO Pacific Dental Services, and his wife, Pamela Thorne, donated $4 million to Stockton-based University of the Pacific to launch a teaching and patient care facility.
4. The California Dental Group provided free dental care to more than 70 adults at the Free Dental Care Day Event on May 25.
5. A car crashed into a Santa Clarita-based dental center, causing the building to catch fire.
6. In the past six months, Western Dental expanded its network by adding six offices throughout California.
7. Two dental professionals are credited with subduing an attacker at a California hospital after the man entered the building and stabbed two nurses and an emergency department physician.
8. Morrisville, N.C.-based Affordable Care opened an Affordable Dentures & Implants practice in Sacramento.
