Fewer patients making appointments and cancellations continue to be the biggest factor preventing full schedules at dental practices, according to a June poll from the American Dental Association's Health Policy Institute.
The ADA collected data from dental practices in its monthly "Economic Outlook and Emerging Issues" poll. The June poll represents responses from the week of June 13.
Top factors preventing dental practice schedules from reaching 100 percent in June:
Patient cancellations: 82 percent
Not enough patients making appointments: 36.8 percent
Trouble filling vacant staff positions: 37.3 percent
COVID-19 safety protocols: 12.4 percent
Other: 8.7 percent
