Anibal Diogenes, DDS, PhD, has been named a Piper Professor by the Minnie Stevens Piper Foundation.
The Minnie Stevens Piper Foundation is a nonprofit organization that awards professors for superior teaching and supports Texas students with scholarship and student loan programs. The Piper Professor Award recognizes excellence in university professors and is given to only 10 educators in Texas each year.
Dr. Diogenes is a professor and vice-chair of the endodontics department at the UT Health San Antonio School of Dentistry. This is one of several awards he has received throughout his career, according to a May 2 news release.
He is the first dentist to receive the award, the American Association of Endodontists said in a May 12 LinkedIn post.
