An Alaska dentist and his wife have been charged with tax evasion, conspiring to defraud the U.S., bankruptcy fraud, wire fraud and money laundering, according to an April 29 news release from the Justice Department.
Beginning in 2013, Glenn Lockwood, DDS, and Saray Lockwood, of Kenai, Alaska, allegedly attempted to evade more than $3.5 million in taxes by filing false bankruptcy petitions and concealing assets by transferring them to a separate LLC account, which they allegedly denied ownership of during bankruptcy proceedings.
If convicted, the couple faces a maximum of five years in prison for each count of tax evasion, conspiracy to defraud the United States and bankruptcy fraud. They also face 20 years in prison for each count of wire fraud, conspiracy to commit wire fraud, money laundering and conspiracy to commit money laundering.
