A New York dentist has pledged to split $10,500 in scholarships among seven high school students to help decrease the local dental practitioner shortage, ABC affiliate news10.com reported April 24.
Gregory Dodd, DDS, of Saratoga Springs Family Dentistry, said he was inspired to provide the scholarships after his dental practice became concerned about the lack of healthcare providers in the area, particularly dentists.
Students interested in any dental role are eligible for the scholarships.
