The American Association of Endodontists has selected the winners of its 2022 awards.
The award recipients will be recognized at the American Association of Endodontists 2022 Annual Meeting, which will be held in Phoenix from April 27-30, according to an April 19 news release.
John Olmsted, DDS, is the recipient of the Edgar D. Coolidge Award. This award recognizes him as a part of an elite group of role models for the entire endodontic community and is the organization's highest honor. He has been active in practice, teaching, lecturing and professional dental organizations for 46 years. Dr. Olmsted was also president of the American Association of Endodontists from 2006-07.
Al Reader, DDS, was selected for the I.B. Bender Lifetime Educator Award for his contributions to the educational fields of endodontics and inspiring his students. He has authored more than 170 scientific articles, 13 chapters in endodontic texts and a book.
Kent Sabey, DDS, is the recipient of the Edward M. Osetek Award because of his skills as an educator, which earned the esteem and respect of students and faculty. He is an associate professor and served as the director of advanced education in endodontics at the Louisiana State University School of Dentistry in New Orleans for nine years. Dr. Sabey is the director of the American Board of Endodontics.
Mohamed Fayad, DDS, PhD, is the recipient of the Calvin D. Torneck Part-time Educator Award. Dr. Fayad is a clinical associate professor in the department of endodontics at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He is also a diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics.
Scott Fehrs was selected for the Honorary Membership Award for his contributions that furthered the advancement of endodontics. Mr. Fehrs is a third-generation business owner and CEO of Treloar & Heisel. The firm focuses on the financial services and needs of dental specialists and general dentists. It represents more than 18,000 dental specialists.
