Here are nine mergers and acquisitions that took place in the dental industry during the first three months of 2021:
1. Tempe, Ariz.-based DSO Gen4 Dental Partners acquired Grand Haven, Mich.-based DSO Smile One Services. It also acquired Phoenix-based practice Harris Dental.
2. Denver-based Espire Dental recently acquired six practices in Colorado from Todd Matheson, DMD.
3. Madison, Wis.-based DSO Cherry Tree Dental expanded into Minnesota with its acquisition of Downtown Dental Associates in Minneapolis, Robert J. Kingston, DDS, in Minneapolis and Fairmont (Minn.) Family Dentistry.
4. West Chester, Pa.-based Spark Dental Management acquired Children's Dental Management.
5. National Dentex Labs acquired Biotech Dental Prosthetics as the fifth full-service dental lab in its Florida network.
6. Little Rock, Ark.-based Rock Dental Brands acquired 10 dental clinics in Arkansas and Missouri.
7. Boca Raton, Fla.-based Sage Dental acquired five practices in Florida.
8. Oral Surgery Partners acquired seven practices in Georgia, Indiana, Texas, North Dakota, Missouri, North Carolina and South Carolina.
9. Private equity firm Thurston Group merged three Southeastern dental groups to form SGA Dental Partners, a dentist-owned and led DSO with 60 clinical locations in rural communities throughout Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana and Mississippi.
