Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey signed into law a bill that allows dentists to administer Botox and fillers cosmetically, The Argus-Press reported March 18.
Three notes:
1. Dentists are now allowed to offer Botox for cosmetic reasons, such as to smooth out facial wrinkles, instead of just therapeutic reasons related to dental and orofacial work.
2. Kevin Ortale, DDS, told lawmakers in January the bill would help him expand his business after it declined by about 20 percent during the pandemic.
3. The new law will go into effect this summer.
