A New Mexico dentist is organizing relief efforts to benefit people affected by the Russia-Ukraine conflict after a family member was killed during a recent attack, KRQE News reported March 11.
Aleksey Kozlov, DMD, told the news station he immigrated to the U.S. from Ukraine in 1997 and has many family and friends who remain in Ukraine. Dr. Kozlov said the home belonging to his family was destroyed and his uncle was killed when Russian forces took hold of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant March 4.
Dr. Kozlov's practice, East Mountain Dentistry in Cedar Crest, N.M., is raising money to help those affected in Ukraine and is working with churches in Ukraine to provide emergency aid and shelter for those displaced by the conflict.
