The number of dentists reporting that their practice is open and operating was at the lowest level since April, according to poll findings from the American Dental Association's Health Policy Institute.
Results come from the ADA's nationwide COVID-19 impact poll for the week of Dec. 13.
When asked about the current status of their dental practice, 60.7 percent of respondents said "open and business as usual."
The current figure is down from 62.5 percent the week of Nov. 15. The last time the number dipped below the current level was in April, when 58.1 percent of dentists said their practice was "open and business as usual."
This month, 38 percent of dentists said their practices were open but had lower patient volumes than normal.
