New York dental school to build $1M clinic for people with disabilities

The University at Buffalo (N.Y.) School of Dental Medicine will add a $1 million clinic to expand care for people with disabilities, Buffalo Business First reported Nov. 17.

The new clinic will be on the third floor of the school’s Squire Hall building on its South campus. It will include a consultation room, a recovery room, accessible bathrooms and three treatment rooms with X-rays, digital scanners and wall-mounted monitors.

The clinic will be equipped with tilt platforms, bariatric chairs, oversized doors and seating for caregivers.

The renovation is expected to begin in April 2022 and be completed in January 2023, according to Marcene Robinson, news content manager at the university.
