There isn't a single dental office in Robertson County, Ky., and there hasn't been one since the mid-1970s, Fox affiliate WXIX-TV reported Oct. 27.
Robertson County is the only county lacking a dentist statewide, and one of 229 counties nationwide that doesn't have a single dentist, according to WXIX-TV.
Some county residents don't think it's necessary to have a dentist in town.
"If we want a dentist or a doctor, so we drive a half-hour, okay?" said Sue Green, a resident of Mt. Olivet, Ky. "We don't want a big city."
When experiencing dental problems, individuals in Robertson County can ignore the pain, drive at least 30 minutes to a dentist in another town, or use a home remedy.
