California dental professionals with licenses expiring in October now have until March 28, 2022, to renew their licenses under a Sept. 28 waiver from the state's Department of Consumer Affairs.
The waiver extensions only allow dental professionals to complete continuing education requirements. Dental professionals must still submit their license renewal application and pay the renewal fees by the respective due dates, the California Dental Association said Oct. 5.
In March 2020, California Gov. Gavin Newsom gave the Department of Consumer Affairs the ability to waive professional licensing requirements as part of the state’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
