From joint oral health studies to supply chain partnerships, here are eight collaborations happening in the dental industry:
- The American Dental Association and the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in Philadelphia are partnering on a study examining the functions of the oral mucous membrane when in the presence of periodontal disease and peri-implantitis.
- Switzerland-based Straumann Group and Chicago-based DSO Aspen Dental Management are partnering to offer dental implants and prosthetic solutions to more than 1,000 U.S. locations.
- Foothill Ranch, Calif.-based dental laser company Biolase is partnering with L. Stephen Buchanan, DDS, to increase the use of dental lasers. Dr. Buchanan will integrate Biolase technology into his educational programs and at his Santa Barbara, Calif.-based practice.
- Dental insurance platform Bento is partnering with health technology company Royal Philips to offer bundled dental benefits plans that include Royal Philips' oral care products.
- The American Dental Association Science & Research Institute and a group of collaborators are using a $3.5 million grant from the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative to map out cells in respiratory tissues from adolescence to adulthood.
- Newport Beach, Calif.-based teledentistry company Denteractive is partnering with customer engagement company Swell to launch an integrated growth platform for dental practices.
- Louisiana State University Health Shreveport collaborated with Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport to launch a one-year dental residency program.
- Boca Raton, Fla.-based Sage Dental is partnering with Straumann Group to offer its patients new digital intraoral scanners and AI-powered monitoring for orthodontics treatments.
