The New York Dental Association recently made several leadership appointments, including a new president, president-elect, vice president and secretary-treasurer.
Kevin Henner, DMD, began his new position as the organization's 141st president Aug. 14, according to an Aug. 17 news release.
Dr. Henner is a general dentist with a practice in Long Island, N.Y. He received his dental degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston. He has previously served on the state dental association's Council on Ethics and the American Dental Association's Council on Ethics, Bylaws and Judicial Affairs.
James Galati, DDS, was appointed president-elect. He has a private practice in Clifton Park, N.Y. He received his dental degree from Georgetown University School of Dentistry in Washington, D.C.
Anthony Cuomo, DDS, was elected vice president. He is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon in practice at Northeast Implant & Oral Surgery in Carmel and Danbury, Conn. He received his dental degree from New York University College of Dentistry and completed additional training in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Lincoln Hospital in New York City.
Frank Barnashuk, DDS, was elected the group's secretary-treasurer. He is a clinical assistant professor at the University at Buffalo (N.Y.) School of Dental Medicine, where he also earned his dental degree. He completed a general practice residency at Buffalo (N.Y.) General Medical Center.
