A Nevada woman has been arrested on suspicion of breaking into a Sun Valley, Nev.-based dental practice, stealing more than $22,000 and performing tooth extractions without a license, KOLO-TV reported.
Washoe County, Nev., police responded May 3 to an after-hours alarm call from the dental practice and discovered an open door and broken window. A total of $22,861 in cash and checks had been stolen, reported KOLO-TV.
Laurel Eich, 42, an employee of the dental office, was arrested July 14 in connection with the incident.
Detectives later learned that Ms. Eich had previously performed 13 tooth extractions on one person using anesthetic the practice had disposed of, reported KOLO-TV.
Ms. Eich was arrested on one felony count of performing surgery on another without a license; one felony count of burglary of a business, second offense; one felony count of grand larceny greater than $5,000 but less than $25,000; three felony counts of violation of probation or condition of a suspended sentence; and one gross misdemeanor count of conspiracy to commit burglary.
