The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recently named K. Jean Beauchamp, DDS, as its new president.
Dr. Beauchamp is a pediatric dentist from Clarksville, Tenn., and the president of the Tennessee Dental Association. She earned her dental degree and completed her residency at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis. She is a fellow of the International College of Dentists in Flint, Md., the American College of Dentists in Rockville, Md., and the Pierre Fauchard Academy in Logan, Utah.
Before being named president, Dr. Beauchamp was a parliamentarian and Southeastern District trustee for the AADP's board of trustees. She was also a chair of several of the organization's committees. She has taken part in multiple American Dental Association initiatives, including the Council of Government Affairs; the Council on Access, Prevention and Interprofessional Relations; and serving as a representative on The Joint Commission's advisory committee.
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry was founded in 1947 and is based in Chicago.
