More than 40 percent of general dentists don't have the time or capacity to administer COVID-19 vaccines, according to the American Dental Association's latest COVID-19 economic impact survey.
The survey was conducted the week of April 12. In total, 1,609 general dentists said they weren't administering COVID-19 vaccines for the following reasons:
I do not have the time or capacity: 40.9 percent
I am not interested: 33 percent
Liability concerns: 23.1 percent
Other: 14.1 percent
Uncertain about compensation: 13.3 percent
Dentists are not authorized in my state: 9.6 percent
Not yet, but I plan to: 8.1 percent
Only support personnel are needed: 3.2 percent
