Forty-three safety-net clinics in Indiana, Ohio and Michigan were awarded $440,000 by the Delta Dental Foundation for the COVID-19 Dental Equipment Fund, Inside Indiana Business reported March 4.
The funding aims to help safety-net clinics — serving patients who are uninsured, underinsured or covered by Medicaid — buy personal protective equipment, update their practices to control aerosols and upgrade sterilization equipment.
Grants were provided to school-based dental clinics, volunteer clinics, community health centers and other qualified centers to help them remain open during the pandemic.
"Many of these organizations have been operating at reduced capacity, and we’re grateful the DDF's resources can help improve access to care," said Holli Seabury, EdD, executive director of Delta Dental Foundation.
