From two dentists on what the Biden presidency means for the industry to new leadership named at the Chicago Dental Society, here are six dentists making headlines over the past week:
1. Francis Bane, DMD, and Todd Carter, DDS, shared the ways President Joe Biden's administration will affect the dental industry.
2. Thomas Schneider Jr., DDS, was named president-elect of the Chicago Dental Society.
3. Jeffrey Banford, DDS, of Blanford Dental Center in Lima, Ohio, was sentenced to six months in prison after he was convicted in a tax evasion scheme.
4. A civil lawsuit filed Jan. 21 is suing Jason White, DDS, for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor. This comes on top of child pornography charges that stemmed from a raid of his practice in Lubbock, Texas.
5. Mackenzie Craik, DDS, of Walla Walla, Ore., was accused of changing a 2-year-old's treatment plan without fully informing his mother. The procedure was done in 2019, and since then he left the state and is practicing in Georgia.
