Two dentists discussed some of the implications President Joe Biden's presidency will have for the dental industry.
Below are their responses, lightly edited for length and clarity:
Francis Bane, DMD: Unfortunately, a Biden presidency will mean the end of our recent economic expansion. We will see higher taxes and increased regulation. We are planning to hold off making any major purchases or opening new employee positions. Hopefully, we can negotiate the next two years until the midterm elections.
Todd Carter, DDS: I expect to have my taxes increased and [the prices of] dental supplies to continue their astronomical increases due to the pandemic. Regulatory restrictions will increase and it will not be [as] business friendly as it has been.
