The National Council of Insurance Legislators adopted the NCOIL Transparency in Dental Benefits Contracting Model Act, according to a Dec. 27 news release.
The model, introduced in 2019, focuses on three sections dealing with network leasing arrangements, prior authorization payments and virtual credit cards, the release said. Highlights of the model include restrictions on when dental benefits can deny a claim and requiring fair and transparent network contracts.
