Customer satisfaction with dental plans decreased slightly in 2020, influenced mainly by declining satisfaction with reimbursement and customer service, according to consumer insight firm J.D. Power's annual dental plan satisfaction report.
The J.D. Power 2020 U.S. Dental Plan Satisfaction Report, released Nov. 10, measured customer satisfaction by surveying more than 1,100 dental plan members in September. J.D. Power looked at the following five metrics, ranked in order of importance: coverage, cost, communications, customer service and reimbursement.
On an index of 1,000 points, overall customer satisfaction with dental plans decreased from 772 in 2019 to 771 in 2020.
