Greenville, N.C.-based East Carolina University received a $3.1 million grant to further care for patients with disabilities, according to WITN-TV.
The Health Resources and Services Administration granted the school the money, one of the largest grants in the dental school's history.
The grant is a part of a broad five-year project addressing the needs of vulnerable populations. Dental students will learn how to improve care for patients with mental, emotional and behavioral challenges.
