Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina will keep its expanded reimbursement plan for virtual visits throughout 2020, according to a June 18 news release.
BCBS of North Carolina's announcement extends the telehealth coverage policy it put into place at the beginning of the pandemic to reduce the spread of COVID-19.
The insurance provider plans to collect data on the surge in telehealth visits to improve its telehealth coverage policy and expects to have a long-term update later in the year.
