The California Dental Association offered advice to dentists June 11 on how to ease feelings of tension among staff who are concerned about their safety amid the pandemic.
Here are five tips:
- Be clear and disclose where recommendations were sourced from when training staff on new infection control protocols.
- Keep staff up to date with reliable COVID-19 news.
- Make sure staff knows how to access any employee assistance program that may be available.
- Be prepared to offer inventive alternatives, such as staggered shifts or modified workweeks.
- Maintain a culture of positivity and empathy by always keeping lines of communication open.
