The American Dental Education Association issued a statement June 2 reiterating its commitment to inclusion and diversity and promised to work with its members to create communities free of discrimination.
The organization said it holds an "unwavering commitment to diversity and inclusion," and noted its commitment to decreasing health inequalities. It urges its member institutions to foster "a culture that acknowledges access, diversity and inclusion."
The statement recognized the long history leading up to the national unrest and highlighted the disproportionate toll that the COVID-19 pandemic has taken on black Americans.
