Delta Dental of Virginia is providing $3 million to its in-network dentists to support the implementation of new safety measures during their reopenings.
The funding will be distributed among the network's more than 4,500 dentists whose governor gave them the go-ahead to reopen May 1. The money will be allocated toward personal protective equipment and other purchases related to new infection control guidelines.
"Quickly supporting dentists is crucial to ensuring patients receive the oral health care they need, when they need it," Frank Lucia, president and CEO of Delta Dental of Virginia, said in a May 27 news release.
