A dentist in Vermont is collecting personal protective equipment to give to front-line healthcare providers, according to CBS affiliate WCAX-TV.
Judith Fisch, DDS, is gathering masks, goggles, gloves, disposable gowns and face shields. Instead of keeping a large supply of personal protective equipment for closed offices, the dentist emphasized the importance of helping providers still treating patients.
"We're certainly not asking dental offices to deplete their supply," Dr. Fisch told WCAX-TV. "But whatever they might have that they can afford to donate, we would collect that."
Dr. Fisch said she hopes donations will extend past the dental community to anyone who uses N95 masks. Supplies will go to long-term care facilities and possibly hospitals.
