Richard Nagy, DDS, has started his 2020 term as California Dental Association's president, succeeding former president Del Brunner, DDS.
A 1986 graduate of Columbus-based Ohio State University College of Dentistry, Dr. Nagy has over 30 years of experience in organized dentistry. He later received his certification in periodontology from Wadsworth VA Medical Center in Los Angeles. The dentist currently owns a private practice in Santa Barbara.
Dr. Nagy has held numerous leadership positions and served on many CDA councils and committees, including the Board of Trustees, Governance Review Advisory Committee and the Leadership Development Committee. He previously served as president of Santa Barbara-Ventura County Dental Society.
As CDA president, Dr. Nagy said he hopes to enhance membership value, support the CDA House of Delegates in policy-related decisions and effectively implement the organization's mission.
"Our collective vision should be for a healthy, well-functioning CDA where needed decisions are made with good communication and fair-mindedness from a global and innovative perspective," Dr. Nagy said.
