1. Andrew Hartwig, DDS, has been fined $10,000 and had his license temporarily suspended after allegedly diverting opioids for personal use.
2. A former employee of Knoxville, Tenn.-based Clarence "Buzz" Nabers, DDS, claims she was forced out of her job after refusing to perform procedures she was not licensed to do. He also mailed letters to patients informing them that they should get tested for HIV, hepatitis B and hepatitis C.
3. William Dickey, DMD, filed a lawsuit Dec. 11 against Delta Dental, accusing the dental insurer of price-fixing and conspiring to lower compensation for dentists.
4. Aram Agadjanian, DDS, must pay $1.7 million in damages after exploiting Medicaid patients at assisted living homes.
5. William Gardner, DDS, has to turn in his license by next month after he was charged with submitting fraudulent claims to insurance companies.
