Walmart Health has selected Roshan Parikh, DDS, to serve as the retail giant's head of dentistry, according to a Nov. 20 news release.
As the head of dentistry, Dr. Parikh will refine Walmart Health's long-term strategy to grow a focus in dentistry while working closely with operations teams to map out where dentistry services are most needed.
Walmart Health opened a clinic Sept. 13 in Dallas, Ga. The clinic offers primary care services, labs and dental care. The retail giant plans to develop more clinics with the help of Dr. Parikh.
Dr. Parikh brings more than 12 years of experience as a practicing dentist to his role. In 2012, he founded Chicago-based Smile Group. Within seven years, Dr. Parikh grew the dental service organization into a network with 24-plus multispecialty practices and nearly 100 dentists. Dr. Parikh eared his doctor of dental surgery degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry.
