The FBI raided South Bend (Ind.) Family Dentistry Nov. 14, carrying boxes of evidence out of the practice, local news station ABC 57 reports.
Agents had a federal search warrant for the dental office run by Trang Mai, DDS, an FBI Indianapolis division spokesperson told ABC 57. Though it's unknown exactly why the raid occurred, an agent from the Attorney General's Medicaid Fraud Control Unit was also present.
"It doesn't surprise me at all," Kendall Terry, a former patient, told ABC 57. "This place is terrible, I wouldn't recommend it to anybody." Mr. Terry said a crown procedure he had at the practice caused him to make three trips to the emergency room. He said he hopes the office is shut down.
The office reopened after the agents left and started treating patients again.
