The owner of Duluth, Minn.-based Downtown Dental Care pleaded guilty Oct. 23 to not paying hundreds of thousands of dollars in taxes, according to local NBC affiliate KBJR.
Gary Hedin, DDS, admitted to owing the IRS more than $158,000 in taxes. Investigators claim that between 2012 and 2017, Dr. Hedin failed to file tax returns and pay employment taxes.
Investigators say Dr. Hedin used the funds to pay for vacations, entertainment, private social club memberships and jewelry purchases, reports KBJR.
Dr. Hedin's sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 25.
