Two Houston residents were arrested Oct. 21 for allegedly treating patients without licenses to practice dentistry, according to ABC13 Houston.
Police arrested Carolina Flores-Paz, 36, and Enrique Eduardo Alvarez, 47, at their Houston office, Delta Image Makers. Dental equipment was confiscated from the office.
After an anonymous informant told police about the clinic, the informant and an undercover officer went to the office for dental services Oct. 21. Ms. Flores-Paz was arrested after allegedly taking dental impressions and offering to provide bottom dentures for $800.
The clinic was often busy with families, but had no online information or social media presence, Jeremy Crisel, who owns a business in the same building, and his wife told ABC13 Houston. Delta Image Makers attracted patients through word-of-mouth, police say.
Mr. Alvarez was the operation's owner and Ms. Flores-Paz told police she was trained in Honduras. Both defendants admitted to practicing dentistry without a license, according to court records cited by ABC13 Houston.
Mr. Alvarez and Ms. Flores-Paz are both out on $2,500 bonds and are scheduled for court Oct. 23.
ABC13 Houston was unable to reach either defendant for comment.
