Here's the latest roundup of dental companies that have been in the headlines, including Dental365 and SmileDirectClub.

1. Biolase announced Oct. 15 that its Waterlase dental lasers have received regulatory clearance in the U.S. and Canada for crown and veneer removal.

2. Irvine, Texas-based U.S. Oral Surgery Management has partnered with Minneapolis-based Dakota Valley Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

3. SmileDirectClub's shares hit an all-time low Oct. 14 after new legislation was signed in California that may make it more difficult for consumers to purchase teeth-straightening aligners.

4. SmileDirectClub released a statement Oct. 14 against legislation introduced in California that would require dentists to review radiographic images before a patient undergoes treatment.

5. New York City-based Dental365 will offer veterans access to free dental care Nov. 10.
