Biolase announced Oct. 15 that its Waterlase dental lasers have received regulatory clearance in the U.S. and Canada for crown and veneer removal.
The Waterlase is designed for crowns and veneer to be removed in under five minutes, according to the news release. The laser also aims to eliminate excess heat and, in some cases, allow for crowns and veneers reuse. Biolase is among the few companies to receive this kind of clearance.
Biolase, a global market leader, has sold 38,900 laser systems in over 90 countries.
