Henry Schein saw net sales spike 5.7 percent year over year in the second quarter of 2019 to reach $2.4 billion, according to its financial statement released Aug. 6.
Four notes:
1. Net income attributable to Henry Schein for continuing operations for the quarter was $116.8 million, compared with $110.6 million in the second quarter of 2018.
2. Henry Schein's dental sales totaled $1.6 billion, a 0.7 percent decrease year over year.
3. In North America, dental consumables internal sales grew 1.3 percent in local currencies. However, Henry Schein's North America dental equipment internal sales declined 2.9 percent in local currencies.
4. Henry Schein generated $697.6 million in medical sales, reflecting a 13.6 percent increase year over year.
