Tennessee officials are considering a $10 million stimulus package for SmileDirectClub as the company seeks to undergo a major expansion in the state, according to the Tennessean.
The incentive package would include a $3.5 million economic development grant and $6.55 million for job training assistance.
SmileDirectClub is in the process of hiring more than 2,000 new employees at its Nashville and Antioch, Tenn., offices. The teeth straightening company plans to spend $217 million on a five-year expansion project.
This would not be the first time SmileDirectClub received an incentive from the state. In 2017, Tennessee gave the company $330,000 to add 439 jobs.
