A Maryland family paid their local orthodontist $3,000 upfront for braces. However, since the braces were placed two years ago, the patient has not seen the orthodontist, according to Fox 5.
The orthodontist had three locations in Maryland, which have all been closed. The orthodontist has since relocated to a practice in Georgia, according to the report.
The patient last saw the orthodontist two years ago. Today, the patient claimed to be in severe pain and unable to contact the orthodontist. Without being able to contact the orthodontist, the family sought out a new provider. However, in doing so, the family paid an additional $2,000 out of pocket.
Authorities request any patient who had a similar experience with this orthodontist to file a complaint with the state's attorney.
