For the last 45 years, Thomas Hatch, DDS, has practiced dentistry at his private practice in Reedsburg, Wis. and he has no plans of stopping, the Reedsburg Times-Press reports.
What you should know:
1. Dr. Hatch could've retired years ago, but instead wants to continue practicing for another 14 years. The longest-practicing dentist in Wisconsin retired after 55 years. Dr. Hatch wants to break that record.
2. He finds particular joy in getting to know his patients and helping them meet their dental goals.
3. Dr. Hatch said, "I think you have to be interested in making friends and knowing [about the lives of] the people you are treating.
4. Although Dr. Hatch has plans to continue to practice, he would like to find another partner to pursue hobbies outside of his practice and spend more time with family.
