Hundreds of patients waited hours in line at various California-based dental practices to receive free care, according to CBS Sacramento.
Here are four things to know:
1. Around 800 dentists participated in the event Oct. 27-28.
2. Dentists provided fillings, extractions and root canals for free.
3. The California Dental Association Foundation organized the event. Since 2012, the group estimates it has provided free care to more than 25,000 people, totaling $21 million in dental care.
4. It is estimated 13 percent of California residents do not have dental insurance.
