A Flourtown, Pa.-based Celebrity Smiles employee pled guilty to stealing more than $100,000 from the dental office, according to The Mercury.
Here are four takeaways:
1. Between September 2016 and November 2017, the woman would take credit card payments from patients and apply a refund charge from the practice to her personal bank account.
2. During that time frame, the woman racked up 118 refund transactions.
3. Because she pled guilty to the embezzlement charges, investigators dropped the charges of unlawful activity, receiving stolen property and misapplication of entrusted funds.
4. The Montgomery County Court sentenced the woman to 60 months in an intermediate punishment program. She will remain under house arrest during the first six months of the program.
