After receiving various complaints from community members, Lodi, Calif., city officials requested Ronaldo Opinga, DDS, repaint his bright purple practice, Bethel Kids Dental, according to ABC 10.
Dr. Opinga designed his practice from the inside out with his pediatric patients in mind. When arriving at the practice, patients are met with a vibrant purple exterior, biblical music and cartoons. He says a majority of his patients he treats come from low-income or migrant families.
City planner Craig Hoffman received various complaints about Dr. Opinga's office after it was painted purple. Lodi city development guidelines recommend businesses avoid "overly vibrant colors."
After hearing of the complaints and city guidelines, Dr. Opinga repainted his office a lighter shade of purple. He hopes the new color will still encourage patients to visit his practice.
