With her one-year term as president elect coming to an end, Kimber Suter, DDS, will take over the reigns as the American Orthodontic Society's president in September, the Journal Advocate reports.
Here are four notes.
1. The AOS appointed Dr. Suter to serve a four-year term on the board of directors in 2014. Her term includes one year as president elect, one year as president and one year as immediate past president.
2. Dr. Suter joined AOS in 1997. Later in 2008 she earned designation as a diplomate. She logged 500 hours of continuing education, presented 10 finished orthodontic cases to four AOS board members and passed a written board exam to earn diplomate status.
3. Currently, Dr. Suter owns and operates a private practice in Sterling, Colo. There she and her partner Carly Schrade, DDS, provide care to more than 100 orthodontic patients on top of close to 2,500 general dentistry patients.
4. Dr. Suter succeeds Paul Winborn, DDS, as president.
